A week of ‘Thanks’
On the 12th May we marked ‘International Nurses Day’, Florence Nightingale’s 200th Birthday. A special day to say ‘thank you’ for all their hard work, amazing care and compassion they provide to our patients & their loved ones. The morning started with bacon butties for all hospital staff, followed by a complimentary lunch and afternoon tea. We held a small raffle – the winners were Daniella Cerreoni-Smith, Danielle Dawson and Michelle Preston which raised £90 for Kettering General Hospital’s Twinkling Stars Appeal. We asked a couple of nurses why they enjoy being a nurse at Woodland Hospital and here are a couple of reasons: Lucy Cope, Registered Nurse loves connecting with people and making a difference in their lives. Working for Ramsay Health Care gives Lucy more autonomy and to voice an opinion in what happens within her workplace. Everyone knows each other and work well as a team across the hospital. She knows who to speak to when she needs any guidance. Jo Milton, Day case and Endoscopy Manager enjoys making sure patients and their family are cared for as she would want her own. She enjoys using her knowledge to influence care. Jo enjoys working for Ramsay Health Care as it has a strong sense of community and everyone works together to benefit the patient and provide quality care to patients.
On the 14th May, we celebrated Operating Department Practitioner Day and the 75th Anniversary of The College of Operating Department Practitioners. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication you show every day. "I love working at the Woodland as everyone is so friendly and very professional and we all have the same aim, to care for our patients safely and professionally" stated Kelly Haynes, ODP and Kirsty Robertson, also an ODP added "Having worked for larger hospitals, I have found working for Ramsay a much more personal and intimate experience for patients as it is a smaller hospital and I believe the staff really endeavour to make each patient's hospital journey a pleasant experience. Woodland gives a very family friendly feel too with all staff knowing one and other. Ramsay gives excellent training opportunities too and you really feel like you are listened too as a member of staff".
