New Orthopaedic consultant David Stock joins Woodland Hospital

Woodland Hospital is pleased to announce that David Stock has joined the orthopaedic team at the Hospital. David specialises in lower limb and sports injury.
David qualified as a doctor in 1990 having also gained a BSc degree. He completed his specialist Orthopaedic training in 1999 and was awarded a years fellowship in joint replacement and sports medicine at Sportsmed.SA, Australia.
General Manager of Woodland Hospital, Tania Terblanche quoted, "We are delighed to have David on board, his expertise and great outcomes will be most welcomed by the hospital and most importantly our patients."
His NHS post, since 2001, is at Northampton General Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon.
David will be undertaking primary and revision arthroplasty (joint replacement) of the hip and knee at the hospital.
He has a specialist interest in sports medicine and is honorary Orthopaedic surgeon to the Northampton Saints Rugby club. David will also be performing arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) of the knee including meniscal and cartilage surgery, as well as ligament (ACL) reconstruction at the hospital.
David works closely with local physiotherapists and allied health professionals to optimise each patients function and recovery.
Being a keen sportsman himself, he played rugby for England students and Saracens RFC and now plays golf, cricket, tennis and ski, he understands the need to get back to fitness as soon as possible.
David will have a clinic at the hospital every Tuesday and will look after both private and NHS patients.
