Ramsay Looks To The Future With Consultant Recruitment Drive
Wednesday 8 February 2017
Consultants from across the Midlands gained a fascinating insight into driving their private work forward at a Ramsay Health Care recruitment event.
A wide range of specialists attended the evening, hosted by the Midlands Region at the Hilton Leicester.
The event targeted consultants who are keen to join a Ramsay Health Care hospital and benefit from private business opportunities.
Consultants attended from Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Kettering and were treated to a three course meal.
Speakers at the event included Gordon Varley, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon from Fitzwilliam Hospital, who gave delegates his view of what working for Ramsay Health Care is like.
Gordon recommended Ramsay to consultants and gave them valuable advice on how they should prepare themselves for work in the private sector.
A Tax Director from Grant Thornton also gave advice on setting up a business, the pitfalls to look out for and some easy wins regarding tax relief and allowable expenses.
Consultants then heard from Ramsay Health Care's Midlands Regional Director James Beech who provided an overview of Ramsay globally while Lorna Dodwell, Midlands Regional Business Development Manager, spoke about building and developing their business for the future.
Regional MAC Chairman, Mr Sankar, summarised the evening and spread the good word about Ramsay over dinner.
Lorna Dodwell said: "The evening was well attended by consultants from across the region and it was an ideal opportunity for them to find out more about joining Ramsay Health Care and developing their private work.
"We are very grateful to all the speakers who supported the event and feedback from the consultants was excellent.
"The event has created opportunities for the Midlands now and just as importantly, given us a healthy group of consultants to work with in the future."
