Academic background

Mr Jalpota has worked in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the North East where he was involved in teaching and training of junior doctors. He moved to Northampton in 2012, where he is working as Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Northampton General Hospital.

Mr Jalpota has  over 25 years of experience in Ophthalmology which has enabled him to deal with simple to complicated eye surgery procedures including cataract and glaucoma surgery. After training from Moorefield Eye Hospital, he is one of the few Consultant Ophthalmologists in this country who has specific qualification in Laser Refractive Surgery to remove glasses.

He has also had the opportunity to learn different techniques of diagnosing ocular lumps with ultrasound under the guidance of well-known Prof Ossining university of Iowa (USA) who coined the term standardised echography which is used for diagnosing eye tumours.
