Breast Enlargement at Woodland Hospital
For women who want to increase their breast size and improve the overall shape of the chest, breast augmentation surgery can be a great way to win back both your physical and emotional confidence. Many of our patients tell us after surgery that they feel more feminine; have an increased self-esteem; and feel finally at ease with their body image.
Breast Enlargement Procedure
Surgery involves inserting an implant behind your natural breast tissue. This projects the natural breast tissue forward, giving it a fuller and larger appearance. Breast surgery is typically carried out under general anaesthetic and takes about one hour to complete. In most cases, patients are allowed to go home the same day.
Recovering from Breast Surgery
Whilst most women experience discomfort after breast augmentation surgery, your consultant surgeon will prescribe pain relief to ease the sensation for up to a week. This type of surgery can have excellent results, which is why it is important to allow the natural healing process to take place and refrain from any strenuous activity for at least six weeks after your surgery.
Risks of Breast Augmentation Surgery
Although all surgery has the risk of developing complications, cosmetic surgery is only ever carried out when a patient is in good health. This reduces the likelihood of complications during surgery in comparison to patients undergoing surgery because of ill health.
Your consultant will discuss with you in great detail about the risks involved and what you should expect before you make your final decision.
