“Mr Chaudhri is an extremely welcoming and professional Consultant. His mannerism throughout my Consultation calmed my nerves and he took the time to fully explain the next steps of my treatment with me. I entered his clinic feeling uncertain and left feeling positive and at ease.” Read more about Mr Chaudhri
Meet Mr Chaudri
How long have you been working as a Consultant General Surgeon and why did you choose this area of expertise? I have been a consultant for over 8 years. I chose colorectal surgery as a speciality as it offers opportunities to help manage patients where surgical treatment is the best treatment and opportunities to improve the quality of life for patients with inflammatory bowel disease and conditions like haemorrhoids, fistulas and complex hernias.
What are the most typical issues you see in your patient clinics? I often see patients with rectal bleeding and change in bowel habit where patients need to be reassured and have their symptoms treated.
What do you find particularly beneficial about the Outreach service Woodland Hospital offers to patients? The outreach service I provide at Uppingham means that patients can have a Consultant led general surgical and colorectal service on their doorstep, without the initial need to travel to Woodland Hospital.
You’re obviously a very busy Consultant. How do you relax? I enjoy pottering about in my garden at home and travelling abroad either on holiday or training or interacting with surgeons from other countries.
