Physiotherapy in Northamptonshire
Physiotherapy plays an important role in managing pain, providing relief, and helping with medical, musculoskeletal, and neurological rehabilitation. Physiotherapy offers a holistic approach to assessing, preventing, and treating problems, as well as helping to reduce the recurrence of problems in the future.
Woodland Hospital’s physiotherapy department offers a range of treatments in both an outpatient and inpatient setting, whilst providing patients with comprehensive educational and self-help programmes to help them manage their condition independently once they are discharged.

Private Physiotherapy at Woodland Hospital
Our physiotherapy department is situated in purpose-built facilities at Schofield House and offers high quality, professional care in a safe and supportive setting. With minimal waiting times, our patients enjoy the use of three private treatment rooms; a wide range of physiotherapy equipment; easy access to the X-Ray department; and an air-conditioned gym. Consultants are also on hand to offer further medical advice.
Your initial assessment will take between 30 - 60 minutes, depending on the area being assessed. During the examination, your physiotherapist will ask you questions about your condition and work with you to develop an effective treatment plan that takes into account of your life-style, leisure activities and general health.
We recommend wearing loose fitting clothes for your appointment to allow your physiotherapist to examine you properly.
If you have a follow-up appointment with your consultant during the course of your physiotherapy, the physiotherapist will write a report of your progress to the consultant. So that we can communicate effectively with your doctor, please let your physiotherapist know about any consultant appointments you may have. Once your treatment is completed, the physiotherapist will write to the referring clinician, e.g. GP or consultant, to summarise the treatment and the outcomes.

Referrals
The department accepts referrals from both GPs and consultants. You can also refer yourself for treatment if you are self-paying. Please note that Woodland Hospital requires 24 hours’ notice if you would like to cancel your appointment, so that we may offer it to another patient. If this is not possible, or you do not attend your appointment, this may incur a cancellation fee, which will not be covered by your insurance company.
